SEMINAR ON REGIONAL CONNETIVITY: OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES HELD AT NDC

Dhaka,03 September 2018: National Defence College (NDC) at Mirpur Cantonment organised a day-long joint seminar in collaboration with Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS)and Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) on “REGIONAL CONNETIVITY: OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES” on Monday (03-9-2018).

Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, Former Advisor to the Caretaker Govt. of Bangladesh and Executive Chairman, Power and Participation Research Centre was present as the Chief Guest. In his address, the Chief Guest stated various important aspects of regional connectivity as well as its prospect and challenges. He called for keen co-operation among the regional countries and international community for greater interests of all.  He appreciated NDC for taking the initiative of organising a seminar on such an important contemporary issue.

Lieutenant General Sheikh Mamun Khaled, Commandant NDC inaugurated the seminar at NDC Auditorium. Eminent intelligentsia and personalities from both military and civil society as well as76 participants of National Defence Course 2018 and 35 participants from Armed
Forces War Course, which included 23 senior military officials from 12 friendly countries, attended the seminar.

Major General A K M Abdur Rahman, Director General, BIISS chaired the first session where Ms Lam-ya-Mostaque from BIISS and Mr.Faiz Sobhan from BEI presented their keynote papers. After that, Ambassador Humayun Kabir, Vice-President, BEI chaired the second session where a group of nominated course members of National Defence Course 2018 presented their keynote papers.The papers and the seminar discourse suggested thought-provoking way forwards, its challenges and future potential, which drew attention of the audience and deserves due consideration.
