Bhatiary (Chittagong), 25 May 2016:- President Parade of the 74 BMA Long Course of Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) was held at academy parade ground, Bhatiary, Chittagong on Wednesday (25-5-2016).

BMA PARADE 25-05-2016 (1)General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq, Chief of Army Staff, Bangladesh Army reviewed the smartly turned out parade and took salute at the impressive march past as chief guest. He also distributed the awards to the outstanding cadets.

While addressing the newly commissioned officers, the chief guest said that

BMA PARADE 25-05-2016 (2)Among them 147 Cadets including 14 female cadets from 74 BMA Long Course are commissioned to Bangladesh Army. There are also 02 cadets of the State of Palestine and one cadet of Sri Lanka passed out through this ceremony on successful completion of their military training.

BMA PARADE 25-05-2016 (3)Battalion Senior Under Officer Tanvir Ahmed Rana was adjudged the best all round cadet and was awarded the coveted ‘Sword of Honour’. At the same time he received the ‘Chief of Army Staff’s (CAS) Gold Medal’ for his outstanding performance in military subjects.

Meanwhile, Birsreshta Mostafa company received the BMA Colour for the Summer Term on the basis of different inter-company competitions. The cadets formally took oath and were later adorned with the rank badges by their respective guardians.

Earlier, Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC), Army Training and Doctrine Command Major General Rezanur Rahaman Khan, Area Commander Chittangong Area and General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division Major General Md Jhangir Kabir Talukder and the Commandant of the Academy Major General Mohammad Humayun Kabir received the chief guest on his arrival at the BMA Parade Ground.

The impressive and colorful parade was witnessed by senior officers of Bangladesh Armed Forces, high ranking govt officials, military and defence attaches of Diplomatic Missions, local elites and guardians of cadets.
