Dhaka, June 14: With the presence of Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina newly appointed Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat has been adorned with Air Marshal Rank Badges at Prime Minister’s office today,Thursday (14-06-2018)

Chief of Army Staff General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq and Chief of Naval
Statt Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed adorned him with the Air Marshal Rank Badges.

Security Adviser to Honourable Prime Minister Major General (Retd.)Tarique Ahmed Siddique),Military Secretary to Honourable Prime Minister  Major General Mia Md Zainul Abedin and Senior officers of Prime Minister‘s office were present on the occasion.

In the afternoon Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat paid tributes to the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by laying a floral wreath at the mausoleum of Bangabandhu in Tungipara. Chief of Air Staff stood in solemn silence for some time in front of the burial chamber of Bangabandhu and joined in a special munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Bangabandhu. Among others senior BAF officers and other local dignitaries were present at that time.

In the morning new Air Chief placed floral wreath at Shikha Anirban to pay homage to the members of Armed Forces, martyred during the War of Liberation in 1971.

Later, on arrival at Air Headquarters from Shikha Anirban, Chief of Air Staff was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned out BAF Contingent. He inspected the guard and took salute. Later, he planted a sapling at Air Headquarters premises.

Mentionable that Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc took over the Command of BAF from the former Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Abu Esrar, BBP, ndc, acsc on 12 June 2018 afternoon.
