Dhaka, July 16: Under G2G agreement, the handing over ceremony of title transfer of newly procured C-130J Mk5 military transport aircraft from UK to Bangladesh Air Force was held in UK on 12-07-2018 in presence of Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc.
The handing over document was signed by Air Commodore M Habib Ahsan Khan, BSP, ndu, psc and Mr Williamson on behalf of the Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh, Ministry of Defence & Armed Forces Division and Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland respectively. As per contract, these aircraft will be delivered to Bangladesh in May 2019.
Mentionable that, Inclusion of C-130J Mk5 military transport aircraft in BAF inventory is a part of implementation process of Forces Goal-2030. The induction of the C-130J Mk5 transport aircraft will certainly uplift the image of Bangladesh as well as the operational capability of BAF in manifold.
Mentionable that, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc at present visiting UK on a seven-day official visit at the invitation of Chief of Royal Air Force Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Hillier KCB CBE DFC ADC MA to attend Royal Air Force’s 100th Anniversary, Royal International Air Tattoo and Air Power Conference.
