Dhaka, May 10: Under G2G agreement, the contract signing ceremony for procurement of 02XC-130J Mk5 military transport aircraft between Bangladesh Air force and United Kingdom was held at Air Headquarter on Thursday (10-05-2018).
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Abu Esrar, BBP, ndc, acsc was present in the ceremony.
The contract was signed by Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans) Air Vice Marshal M Sanaul Huq, OSP, GUP, ndc, psc and Her Excellency Ms Alison Black, High Commissioner of UK in Bangladesh on behalf of Bangladesh and Defence Equipment Sales Authority (DESA) & Marshall Aerospace Defence Group (MADG) of UK respectively.
Among others, PSO of Armed Forces Division, PSOs of Air Headquarters, Senior BAF officers and representatives from High Commission of UK in Bangladesh were present on the occasion. Mentionable that, as a part of implementation process of Forces Goal-2030, this contract was signed to induct C-130J Mk5 military transport aircraft in BAF.
This modern transport aircraft is at present operated by 17 developed countries in the world. So, the induction of this C-130J transport aircraft in BAF will certainly uplift the image of Bangladesh in international arena and at the same time the operational capability of BAF will increase in manifold.
