BAF SEMS FOOTBALL FEST CONCLUDES

 

Dhaka, January 28, 2018: A-four day long Inter-English Medium Sschool football festival 2018 organized by BAF Shaheen English Medium School (BAF SEMS) concluded at BAF Shaheen College Play Ground today, Sunday (28-1-2018). The tournament experienced its final moment with the final match of U-19 Girls’ category where BAF SEMS and DonBosco participated. The girls of DonBosco school sealed their title in U-19 Girls’ category after an exhilarating and breath-taking final match beating BAF SEMS by 3-1 goals margin.

Earlier, the final matches of U-14, 16 & 19 Boys’ group were also held in a befitting fashion where the spectators witnessed some thrilling moments, great dribbling & passing skills from the young players. In U-14 boys’ category, BAF SEMS became champion beating Hurdco school by 2-0 goals. Bangladesh International  School & College wining the U-16 boys’ championship by beating Sunnydale by 2-0 goals. In U-19 boys’ category, Bangladesh International  School & College raised the title by beating Dellhi Public School (DPS) by 2-0 goals.

As the chief guest, Air Chief Marshal Abu Esrar, BBP, ndc, acsc, Chief of Air Staff, Bangladesh Air Force and as a special guest, Tasneem Esrar, President, Bangladesh Air Force Women’s Welfare Association were present among the spectators to witness the final matches.

In his noteworthy speech, the Chief Guest highlighted BAF’s contribution in making human-resources of the country by providing quality education through its Shaheen-family. He was discussing about his mission to provide a complete English Medium education starting from Play Group to A level in a single campus from the year 2019. He also congratulated all the winners and applauded the defeated teams for their hard work and enthusiasm for the game. He uttered, “There are many far-flung benefits to be a sportsman. It gives you confidence, strength, and physical fitness. Remember, a non-winner provides the winner a scale to measure his or her success. For a height there has to be depth. I think the thrill of life is, in holding up both.” The Chief Guest was happy to note that BAF SEMS achieved remarkable success in the O level examination of 2017. He congratulated two students who achieved 10 A* out of 10 subjects in last O level exam as well.

The principal of BAF SEMS Group Captain Makhlukar Rahman khan, BPP, psc, Phd also delivered a speech. In his speech, he thanked the twenty-two joining schools and all concerned people for being part of SEMS’ historic journey of acquaintance.

Later on, the Chief Guest and the special guest distributed the prizes among the players and team officials of champion and runner-up teams. There was also individual category awards i.e best scorer, best goalkeeper, best defender and most valuable player from each category.

Mentionable that, the tournament started on 25 January and 560 boys & girls from 22 renowned English Medium schools of the city played in 108 matches in four different categories. All participating teams enjoyed the event in true spirit of sportsmanship. They returned home happily and desired to participate in future.
