2-DAY LONG ARCHITECTURE FEST INAUGURATES IN MIST

Dhaka, 03 February 2017: The two-day long `Architecture Festival-2018’ organized by the Department of Architecture of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) was Inaugurated in the premises of MIST, Mirpur Cantonment on Saturday (03-2-2018).

Major General Md Abul Khair, Commandant MIST, inaugurated the festival as chief guest. Brigadier General K. M. Salzar Hossain, Head of Department of Architecture, was also present on the occasion.

The chief guest focused on exploring the prospects of using innovative eco-friendly building materials and modern technology in producing sustainable architecture. He also emphasized on the role of academics, students as well as professionals specializing on the subject to contribute in making a better future for the country through the practice of contextual environmental architecture.

The festival began on Saturday 3rd February 2018 and comprised of 3 events including seminar, student work exhibition and design charrette. Eminent architects, educationist and professionals attended the seminar and shared their presentations and experience on the future trend of architecture. A total of 200 students from 37 schools of Architecture around the country have participated in the Design Charrette.

Mentionable, The chief guest also attended the ceremony on the closing day on Sunday (04-2-2018)  and distributed prizes among the winners.
