Dhaka: 12 August: The 16th Joint Governing Body Meeting of National Defence College (NDC) and Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) was held on Sunday (12-8-2018) at the conference room of Prime Minister’s Office, Armed Forces Division, Dhaka Cantonment.
Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina graced the occasion as the Chairman of the Joint Governing Body of both the institutions. Advisor to the Hon’ble Prime Minister(Security Affairs) Major General Tarique Ahmed Siddique, rcds, psc (retd), Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff, Principal Staff Officer, Armed Forces Division, Secretaries of Public Administration, Finance Division, Defence, Foreign Affairs and Secondary and Higher Education Division, Vice Chancellors of Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University, National University and Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) were present in the meeting.
Hon’ble Prime Minister expressed her deep satisfaction over the progress and development of both the prestigious military institutions of the country. Hon’ble PM welcomed the newly appointed members of the governing body and thanked the governing body for their active participation and valuable contribution during their tenure. Hon’ble Prime Minister urged upon the college authorities to be in constant pursuit in updating Course Curriculum/Modules so as to fit in our security and development needs. She also reiterated on the need of a knowledge based civil-military leadership and best use of national assets.
Hon’ble Prime Minister also said that, we are continuing the development and modernization of Armed Forces by introducing Forces Goal 2030 in light of the policy introduced by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. NDC and DSCSC are contributing significantly by training the officer of home and abroad to take higher responsibilities. Trained officer are performing their duties successfully at home and in the overseas countries including UN Mission.
Then the resume of NDC and DSCSC were presented by Commandant, NDC and Commandant, DSCSC respectively. The Governing Body reviewed the progress of previous decisions and discussed on issues in the agenda of the current meeting. Appropriate decisions were given on the agenda. At the end of meeting, both the Commandant of NDC and DSCSC expressed their deep gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for her kind presence and for rendering constant support and guidance for development of both the institutions.
